The Residence concept is the brainchild of Paul Newman and Ben Rafferty.

The formula behind the success is a casual dining restaurant and cocktail bar featuring live music, set in a beautiful Georgian mansion house. Originally built in the 1600s, the most famous resident was former Lord Mayor of London, Edmund Wright in the 17th century. The ‘Residence’ has taken Nantwich’s restaurant and bar scene to a new level with a cocktail bar, restaurant, private hire suite and alfresco garden terrace, set over two beautifully designed floors.

Head chef, Paul Mercandelli is the culinary mastermind behind the Residence’s menu. Paul has developed an extensive, innovative menu centred around eclectic international fayre, with a focus on wholesome and comfort foods using locally-sourced produce where feasible. The ‘Residence’ differs from conventional restaurants, a home from home, with a touch of opulence – casual dining at its best. Fine, quality fresh home cooking and carefully crafted beverages served in lavish surroundings create an ambient drinking, lounging and dining experience.

From the furniture to the décor, every detail has been considered to create an innovative fusion of homely surroundings inspired with an out of home and contemporary twist. On the ground floor a dramatic eight-meter cocktail bar houses a state of the art drinks cabinet and an impressive white Corian bar surface. The restaurant walls are dressed with specially made flock wallpaper and impressive bevel edge mirrors, centred around immense eye-catching chandeliers. The Residence offers quality without exclusivity and high levels of service without high prices across a broad customer base and has already become the proverbial ‘third place’ to a large number of Cheshire’s residents and workers.
