Speckledy and Leghorn are just two of the breeds of cicken kept on Abbey Leys Organic Farm. Owner, Tim Harrison is the third generation of his family to show a passion or poultry, burning the farm organic 10 years ago.
Committe to promoting other local produce, Abbey Leys host a farmers' market on the first Sunday of the month - look out for their poultry stall at other specialist markets in the area too.
Abbey Leys also has a farm shop where you can stock up on local goodies such as yoghurt and gammon.
From M6 junction 19, take A556 exit to Altrincham. At the first set of traffic lights (Mere), go straight through. At Bucklow Hill traffic lights, turn left opposite the Swan Hotel into Chapel Lane. Follow this road (becomes Peacock Lane) and Abbey Leys will appear on the right after about 2 miles.
